19 CUHK-Shenzhen Students Chosen into Oxford University Visiting Student Programme (VSP)
The Visiting Student Programme (VSP) of the University of Oxford recently announced the student entry list for the 2024-2025 academic year recently. In the list, students from CUHK-Shenzhen took the lead, securing 19 available spots, nearly 70% of the total. This number not only doubled compared to last year, but also enabled the University to take the leading place for five consecutive years among mainland universities. A total of 30 undergraduate students from more than 10 mainland universities were admitted under the programme this year, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
A total of 19 undergraduate students from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen will start their academic journey for one year or one term at St. Peter's College, St. Hilda's College, Mansfield College, Pembroke College, Worcester College, and St. Edmund Hall of the University of Oxford starting this autumn.

Since its establishment, CUHK-Shenzhen has been committed to cultivating high-level international talents. The University actively promotes international exchanges and cooperation, maintaining substantial partnerships with 149 renowned institutions worldwide, encompassing 254 international cooperation projects spanning 33 countries and regions. Over 60% of undergraduate students have overseas credit study experiences, making the University at the forefront of the mainland universities.
Since establishing a partnership with the University of Oxford in 2017, the University has seen 58 students from 18 different majors being selected for the VSP programme. The strong international atmosphere and the bilingual teaching environment at the CUHK-Shenzhen have facilitated their successful entry into the VSP programme.
Introduction to the Visiting Student Programme (VSP) of the University of Oxford
The University of Oxford's Visiting Student Programme, organized by the Oxford Prospects and Global Development Institute (OPGDI), aims to provide outstanding students worldwide with the opportunity to deeply understand Oxford's academic atmosphere and cultural environment. Students selected for the VSP programme have equal rights as Oxford undergraduates and become lifelong alumni of the Oxford colleges they studied at upon completion of their studies.
The University of Oxford emphasizes on tutorial-based instruction and lectures, focusing on tailoring personalized educational programmes to provide high-quality academic support for students. The VSP places emphasis on applicants' study plans and academic abilities. Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.7, an IELTS score of 7.0/TOEFL score of 100, and provide English application materials including a personal statement and two academic writing samples. Students from the CUHK-Shenzhen are not required to provide English language proficiency scores such as IELTS or TOEFL during the application process (though certain Oxford University colleges may request language proficiency scores during later stages of the application review process).
