Longgang Key Laboratory of Organic Optoelectronic Materials and Devices
This key laboratory is led by Professor Yongbo Liang, the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, and also including two professors, two associate researchers, several postdoctoral and PhD students. Professor Liang received his B.Sc.(Hon.) degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury (1979), M.Sc. (Organometallic Chemistry) from the University of Sussex (1980) and Ph.D. from the University of Western Australia (1984). After his Senior Postdoctoral Fellow position in Sussex University (UK), he joined the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1990 and was Professor from 1997 to 2015. He is now the Adjunct Professor of Chemistry Department in the Chinese University of Hong Kong (shenzhen).
The main research of this laboratory includes: Design and simulation of the molecular structure of single-component white luminescent materials (benzene, two-dimensional perovskite, etc.). Synthesis and characterization of one - component white light emitting materials. Preparation and characterization of OLED devices based on single component white light emitting materials. Establish the standard measurement solutions for materials synthesis and characterization of OLED devices servicing for industry. It aims to become a first-class laboratory for ultra-precision organic synthesis and device preparation.
