The proposal to establish the “The Key Laboratories of Universities in Guangdong Province ” was approved in September 2020. The director of the key laboratory is Professor Richard Ye. The laboratory covers research areas such as structural biology, computational biology and bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, innovative drug discovery and other current major research initiatives of the School.

The key laboratory is one of the significant milestones subsequent to the approval of our BSc in Biology, which is elected as one of the subjects of a high-level university in Guangdong Province. The key laboratory will provide a provincial-level platform to support the construction of various disciplines of life and health sciences in The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. It will cultivate innovative high-level talents with international perspectives in order to meet the needs of the nation and Guangdong's economic and social development.
