The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen)-Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data-Huawei Innovation Laboratory of Future Network System Optimization

The Innovation Laboratory of Future Network System Optimization is jointly established by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), and Shenzhen Research Institute of Big Data. The director of the laboratory is Prof. Zhi-Quan Luo, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and SIAM/IEEE Fellow. The goal of the laboratory is to attract and connect outstanding scientists and engineers from all over the world, to solve challenges in the field of network system optimization theory and technology. In particular, the laboratory will combine CUHKSZ’s and SRIBD’s scientific research strength in mathematics and Huawei’s excellent engineering capabilities to jointly promote the application of mathematics and artificial intelligence technologies in future network system-level innovations, and solve the problems that have plagued the communications industry and the scientific community for many years. These will greatly improve the network performance and user experience.
In addition, the establishment of the laboratory is an active response to the recent ninth meeting of the Central Commission for Comprehensively Deepening Reform. It is pointed out that deepening of the integration of industry and education is a strategic measure to promote the development of education, talent-led development, industrial innovation and development, and high-quality economic development, which is of far-reaching and important significance.
