Natural products are important sources of new drugs. Cytoprotective agents are chemicals that can effectively protect living cells in the body from all sorts of injuries. These drugs can be used to treat a number of human diseases such as neurodegenerative diseases, ischemic cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases and liver diseases. The key laboratory will jointly use different technical approaches, including molecular modeling calculation, biochemistry methods, cell models, and animal models to discover natural products with cytoprotective effects, which may provide new therapies for treatment of human diseases.
