Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Future Networks of Intelligence
Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Future Intelligent Network is based on the Future Network Institute of Intelligence (FNii), Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) (CUHKSZ), mainly relying on the School of Management and Economics, and School of Science and Engineering (SSE), Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). Professor Shuguang Cui, dean of FNii and chair professor of SSE, CUHKSZ, is the director of the laboratory. Professor Ping Zhang, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering, is the chairman of the academic committee. Professor Chuan Huang and Professor Jie Xu are deputy directors of the laboratory.
Towards the major national strategic direction of the future intelligent networks, the laboratory will mainly focus on cutting-edge techniques such as AI-enabled intelligent network theory, intelligent Internet of Things, and semantic communication theory. The laboratory will also conduct a series of key technologies on tackling core algorithms and core devices, and building an intelligent network prototype system application platform. It aims to promote the cross-innovation of AI, Internet of Things, and communication disciplines, and strive to become an academic and talent highland in related fields in the country and Guangdong Province. The laboratory plans to build a high-level team consisting of at least 30 scientists, 30 postdoctoral fellows, 100 doctoral students, and 20 engineers. It will carry out in-depth strategic cooperation and complementary advantages with some leading companies in the industry, as well as Pengcheng Laboratory, based on which we vigorously promote technological research in the field of information, and develop a whole-chain development ecology from basic scientific research to applied scientific research, achievement transformation, to business incubation. Therefore, with a full play to the leading role of industrial pull and strategic support, it would promote the rapid development of industries such as 5G/6G mobile internet and smart IoT.
