The Joint Laboratory of Computer Vision and Artificial Intelligence is jointly established by Linklogis Digital Technology Group Co., Ltd. and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), The director of the laboratory is Prof. Dapeng Zhang, Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada, Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering, Distinguished Speaker of the IEEE and IEEE/IAPR Fellow. The laboratory aims to attract and cultivate high-level talents in computer vision, artificial intelligence, data science, statistics and other related fields. Through talent training, joint research and various forms cooperation, the joint laboratory will build an innovation system of industry-university-research alliances, to provide technical support for enterprises’ products and businesses, and also provide a reserve of high-level talents for enterprises’ development.

The establishment of the joint laboratory is an active response to the “Implementation Opinions on Deepening the Integration of Industry and Education” released by Guangdong People’s Government. It is pointed out that universities and enterprises are encouraged to strengthen the construction of enterprise technology centers and technological innovation platforms for universities, and also encourage key industry enterprises, universities, and colleges to jointly establish key laboratories, engineering research centers, industrial innovation centers, technological innovation centers and engineering bases. This is of great significance for promoting economic transformation and upgrading and cultivating new drivers of economic development.
