Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Chips
Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Optoelectronic Materials and Chips was officially established by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education in September 2022, with a total area of 1,000 m2. The laboratory is based on the Shenzhen Key Lab of Semiconductor Lasers, the Longgang Key Laboratory of Next Generation Solar Devices and the optical communication core chip research platform and the total value of equipment so far is more than 25 million. The director of the laboratory is Prof. Zhaoyu Zhang, under the academic leadership of Academician Shuk Yin Tong, Academician Zhigang Zou and Prof. Tony Li, the laboratory has undertaken 8 national level projects, 3 provincial or ministerial level projects and 9 prefecture-level projects in the past three years. The amount of funding exceeds 70 million and 100 academic papers have been published in the world-class academic journals such as Nature communications, Joule, Advanced Materials, etc. Taking advantage of the disciplines, platforms and talents of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), the laboratory is dedicated to building a first-class multi-disciplinary R&D entity and a training platform for senior professionals in the field of optoelectronic materials and chips.
