The CUHKSZ-Boyalife Joint Laboratory of Regenerative Medicine Engineering is a laboratory jointly established by Boyalife Co., Ltd and the School of Medicine, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen). Under the leadership of Professor Liu Guozhen, the Director of the Biomedical Engineering Programme, at the School of Medicine, CUHK-Shenzhen, this joint laboratory makes full use of the technical advantages of the CUHK-Shenzhen in precision medicine, biosensing, medical devices, tissue engineering,regenerative medicine, artificial intelligence, and big data. Combining the experience of Boyalife Co., Ltd. in the industrialization of cell drugs and medical devices, this joint laboratory challenges the current domestic technical barriers in the clinical application of cells and clinical diagnostic products, and cooperates in the development of automated equipment around the large-scale production of cells and clinical applications, cell-based drugs, biomaterials, single-cell analysis, inflammation detection and aging diagnosis and other technologies and products. CUHK-Shenzhen and Boyalife will jointly promote the application of biomedical engineering technology in regenerative medicine, and truly realize the transformation of underlying technology development to product transformation and clinical application.

The establishment of the Regenerative Medicine Engineering Joint Laboratory between university and the industry is a positive response to the government's comprehensive deepening of industry-university-research collaborative innovation, solving the bottle-neck problems, and realizing the domestic production of medical devices. It helps to realize technological innovation, the cultivation of talents with interdisciplinary training and the promotion of high-quality economic development, which are of far-reaching significance.
