1.Mission
The Centre for Learning Enhancement And Research (CLEAR) aims to advance the University’s excellence. To ensure high quality in teaching and learning through educational research and teaching development services. To encourage excellence in teaching and learning so as to maximize the potential of both teachers and students; To create opportunities for academics to reflect upon their teaching and share their experiences and ultimately achieve the common improvement of both teaching standard of teachers and learning efficiency of students.。
2.CLEAR’s strategy
To support the mission of the University, particularly its focus on continuous enhancement and assurance of high quality in teaching and learning.

2.Evidence-based quality assurance
2.1 to conduct study survey (questionnaires for students)
2.2 to provide consultation services and to support policy development in teaching & learning
2.3 to prepare for the quality audit by CUHK
3.Teaching and learning enhancement
3.1 to carry out teaching development talks and workshops
3.2 to support eLearning (promote U-Reply and other eLearning tools introduced by other units)
4.Presidential Exemplary Teaching Awards
4.1 to organize activities to promote teaching awards
4.2 to promote and organize teaching experience sharing activities
3. CLEAR’s works
- To support Quality Assurance (QA) of the university, especially in policy development, quality manual compiling, programme reviews, and peer review;
- To provide professional development trainings including PDCs for new teachers, IPL and PDCs for TAs;
- To organize and conduct orientations for new teachers and OBA training for all teaching staff, workshops on teaching and learning together with Registry office and ITSO;
- To administer a range of surveys in order to support the development of useful longitudinal data and provide evaluations including ECQ, SEQ, GCQ and AQ;
- To improve the questions design of CTE, develop and manage the Early Feedback Collecting System;
- To manage and organize teaching award selection and award ceremony
