Recruitment Introduction of Postdoctoral Research Mobile Stations
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (CUHK-Shenzhen) was founded in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Running Schools upon approval by the Ministry of Education, and it inherits the academic system of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The university is committed to providing top quality higher education that features an integration of the East and the West and fostering an enriching research environment. It is CUHK-Shenzhen’s mission to cultivate innovative talents with a global perspective, Chinese cultural traditions and social responsibilities. The university currently consists of eight schools as well as a Graduate School. As of now, CUHK-Shenzhen has launched 29 undergraduate majors and 46 postgraduate (master's and doctoral) programs, more than 11,000 students from around the world are studying at CUHK-Shenzhen.
The university recruits globally and adheres to the academic system with international peer evaluation. At present, it has introduced about 700 world-renowned scholars and researchers from around the world, including 6 Nobel Prize laureates, and over 40 fellow members of academies of science from various countries. Guided by innovation-driven principles,the university aims to build a first-class research university focusing on emerging interdisciplinary fields and national and Greater Bay Area strategic needs. It actively establishes international scientific and technological innovation platforms, assembling over 100 research and innovation platforms at all levels. With over 1700 research projects undertaken and 15 innovative teams recognized at the provincial and municipal levels, the university has produced a series of high-quality research outcomes, including papers published in prestigious journals like Nature and Science.
The university follows a development approach of “highlighting key points, integrating intersections, and collaborating for innovation”. Leveraging a team of world-class scientists, it is actively building emerging interdisciplinary clusters. Seven disciplines including Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Biology and Biochemistry, Clinical medicine, General social science have entered the top 1% of ESI subjects. Four disciplines such as Computer Science and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Economics, and Biology have been included in the key disciplines for high-level universities in Guangdong Province. In 2023, three postdoctoral research mobile stations of CUHK-Shenzhen has been successfully getting approved, namely Computer Science and Technology, Materials Science and Engineering, and Applied Economics, which is also the first time that a Chinese-foreign cooperative university has been approved for postdoctoral research mobile stations. Previously, CUHK-Shenzhen has recruited more than 300 postdoctoral fellows through the provincial and municipal innovation practice base.
