About CFA Institute Research Challenge
The CFA Institute Research Challenge is an annual global competition that provides university students with hands-on mentoring and intensive training in financial analysis and professional ethics. Each student will be tested on their analytical, valuation, report writing, and presentation skills. They gain real-world experience as they assume the role of a research analyst.
The CFA Institute Research Challenge has been held for ten years and is divided into four stages: Local, Sub-regional, Regional and global. Currently, there are four local events in mainland China: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen (i.e. South China) and Chengdu. The winning teams from the four local challenges will advance to the Sub-regional final. Teams will research a designated public company, complete a full English report on the development, and present their findings to the judges in a defense session. Participants will demonstrate their report writing and presentation skills and be tested on how to drive the best implementation of equity research and company analysis.
